Great family retirement party!

All 14 members of our family, Ages 18 - 61, had a fantastic time at the Oregon cliff house. We came home tired and sore, which is a good thing! We played so many games of wiffle ball, volleyball, corn hole, hiked the McKenzie river trail, and ended every evening with a bonfire. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. With this size of group you do need to bring a couple ice chests, and bring your own volleyball. The trail down to the river was fine for us but would be challenging for young children or elderly. We plan to come back here, and every family member agreed! This is a great place to bond and BS.

Mini Reunion Get Away

A group of high school buddies just shy of their 30-year reunion and their significant others gathered at the Oregon Cliff House for a long weekend of drinking beer, telling stories and enjoying everything the Cliff House had to offer. The group thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in the river, sitting on the deck while playing corn hole and partaking in a home run derby on the wiffle ball field. The Oregon Cliff House was the perfect place for the gathering. Everyone enjoyed everything it had to offer and Shaun (the owner) was great to work with.

Wiffle Ball and River Water Wonderland!

I can't express in words how much fun and how many laughs we had during our three night stay at the Oregon Cliff house. Between our weekend wiffle ball tourney to just being mesmerized by the magical McKenzie River it couldn't have been a better stay-cation for our family. From dawn to much passed dusk, we took advantage of the beautiful deck overlooking the river, the amazing wiffle ball field and gorgeous scenery around the house. They have so many extra bonus items our family enjoyed for a comfortable and pleasant stay from board games inside to a BBQ outside. They even had bottles of wine you can buy in case you forget to bring or run out of your own! There are some great hikes such as Tamolitch which is a short drive away and a MUST do while staying in the area! We loved, loved our stay and only look forward to next time.

Only the best!!

It is difficult to put into words how you feel after having to leave such an amazing place! We will be back, this I know for sure!! What an amazing, lovely space. This home, this river, the property...they have thought of everything down to the smallest detail inside and out! My favorite part is that it feels like home. That is priceless. Stay here! Just do, because only then will you truly know what I mean when I tell you that it's so hard to leave.

Memorial Day Soiree

After taking a beautiful drive along the McKenzie Highway, and pulling up to the immense "CH" on the stunning gate of the Cliff House- we knew we were in store for an amazing weekend.

Myself and a group of 12 extreme adventurers reserved this outdoor adult playground over Memorial Day weekend- and honestly- it knocked our socks off.

This place has everything you could ever need, natural beauty, a flowing river in the backyard, awe inspiring architectural deck spaces, fire pits, a stage, 4 different versions of Cranium, a soothing hot tub, a Righteous Brothers CD, Q-tips, and Vida Yards!

Nothing will make you feel more alive than having the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, and hitting a walk-off homer to win it all...with a beer in your hand. Even if you aren't a baseball fan- this is the closest you will ever get to feeling like you are in the big leagues.

Shaun was an amazing host- offering great advice for activities in the area, and making the reservation process a breeze. The added touch of the complimentary bottle of wine, and card was a great touch. You are minutes from all the rafting, hiking, and lush Oregonian wilderness you could dream of. We hiked to the Blue Pool just 30 minutes east, which I highly recommend.

Our group reunites every memorial day at a different VRBO property around the country, and we all agreed that this was, hands down, the best place we've stayed yet. Many thanks to Shaun for creating this place that brought us all together!

Good times, great place!

The Cliff House was everything it was billed as and more! Our group had an incredible time lounging on the decks overlooking the river, soaking in the hot tub, cranking wiffle balls out of the park (yes there is a real-deal wiffle ball field on site), cooking/bbqing fine meals, and enjoying everything the property has to offer.

The place is clean, well furnished, nicely appointed and the open floor plan was great for entertaining.

Access to the great outdoors from The Cliff House is unparalleled. Just up the road are wilderness trails (we explored Clear Lake one day and Tamolitch Pool another), river put-ins, and ski resorts. Sisters and Bend are just over the pass, and Eugene 45 minutes downriver.

We were impressed with the size of the lot the house sits on, which was great for the kids to run around, for throwing the frisbee and playing bocci ball. The place is actually set up to handle a large group with a covered stage for music, extensive parking, tent sites, horse shoe pit and a bunk house. This gave our group a lot to talk about for a future, larger get together. Highly recommended!

Elegant and Beautiful

I stayed here with a group of ladies in April, and had a fabulous time. The house is absolutely beautiful with lots of detailed features, from the flooring to the bin of toys tucked under a table. There's art in every room, and the porch and river view are hard to beat. Not only that, but the kitchen is well-equipped with every piece of equipment you might want. I've already mentioned it to all of my family as a possible vacation spot!

Wonderful Birthday and Christmas

WOW! I could go on and on about how wonderful the Cliff House is and how wonderful the owners are, instead I tell you what a wonderful time my family had there. The house was all decked out for the Holidays, it was beautiful, tree, lights, table setting....everything was done when we got there, so all we had to do was move right in and start enjoying our family vacation. We enjoyed the hot tub, the ball field, the deck, the view, the sounds of the river. The house is large so we had plenty of room the play games, sit by the fire and and visit. Just loved our time there, it made my birthday and Christmas with my kids (adults) a truly wonderful experience.

Fantastic time at the Oregon Cliff House

We recently spent a weekend at the Oregon Cliff House with a group of mamas and toddlers. What a wonderful retreat for all of us. The house was spectacular. It met everyone's expectations, was comfortable, clean, spacious and provided us with all the essentials for our weekend away. The grounds are beautiful, the hot tub was definitely put to use--overlooking the river--what more could you ask for? I can't wait to visit again someday. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with our little mama tribe. We made memories to last a lifetime.

Family Friendly Getaway

We have been to The Oregon Cliff House twice now. The 1st time we attended a beautiful wedding. The venue was magically and picturesque. I wish I known about this venue when I was getting married! After attending the wedding we quickly contacted the owners to arrange a weekend stay! It was amazing! The house and property are toddler friendly as well as wheelchair friendly (which is hard to find BOTH). The hot tub and deck are great for adult relaxation! The bunk house was really cool! It has the most beautiful bathroom I think I have ever seen! The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to entertain our large party. We had a blast! Highly recommended! We will definitely book our next stay soon!

Do Not Miss the opportunity to stay here!!!

Although we may write about our experiences at The Oregon Cliff House, it cannot be adequately described. You know from the time you open the front gate that for as long as you are there rest and bliss await you. There are no pictures that describe that feeling. We recently spent 4 wonderful nights at this beautiful property. The grounds are immaculate, with many hidden spots for a moment of solitude and what looks like more fun stuff to come. There was plenty of room, both indoors and out, for our group of family and we took full advantage.

Although I thought the wiffle ball field an interesting idea, who would have thought we would have played as much as we did! Watching my in-laws playing ball with their kids and grandkids was highly entertaining. The pictures are priceless! There was also a mean game of horseshoes at one point as well.

We sat days and nights on the enormous deck spaces, used the hot tub endlessly, and despite the temperature-enjoyed the fire pit. Not only is there a nice patio set, but collapsible chairs are available as well. The outdoor propane grill was gassed and ready to go with a spare tank if we needed. The interior of the home is spacious, plenty of everything and easy to find. Lots of room for multiple cooks in the kitchen. Easy to get to small town market 6 miles away, and the "big city" store less than a half hour drive.

I guess I should also mention one of the main reasons we selected the house, the proximity to the McKenzie river. You can see it as you enter the front doors, out the windows in the back, right at the base of the property. We fished daily, kayaked some, and explored the river's edge. Yes we caught fish, and there is a boat ramp about a 1/4 mile in either direction of the property if you need it.

Shaun made the reservation process so easy, and was great to deal with every step of the way. There was a sweet welcome waiting for us, and although we didn't need him, I'm sure he would have come running if we had called.

I could go on and on, but one thing is for sure, The Oregon Cliff House is a place you will enjoy while you are there, and long for after you leave. Do Not Pass this one by!!! We will definitely return!

Little Bit of Paradise!!!!!

The Oregon Cliff house was my little bit of paradise. The best vacation rental I have ever stayed in. And being a bit directionally handicapped was glad it was so easy to find.

My mother came to visit and we hadn't seen each other in a couple of years. before that we saw each other at family reunions but with all of us there we didn't really get much alone time. This was the perfect place!!!!! We had peace, quiet, tranquility, views beyond my dreams and my mother was in heaven. We had the best visit we have had in...........not sure how long. Too long. Everything was so nice and clean we had time to have some great talks and got to know each other again. The special little features he had hidden everywhere were a special added treat.

My children and grandchildren joined us and we played Wiffle Ball 2 of the 4 days we were there. More fun than you can imagine. And the hot tub at the end of those days couldn't have been better. My son enjoyed fishing while the rest of us enjoyed the views and peace.

My grandsons, two of them 6 and the other 8, couldn't get enough of the little trails and swimming just 10 minutes away.

I was concerned for a moment we had forgotten some food items but just down the road was a market and a quaint church some of us visited. None of us wanted to leave and I highly recommend staying here for any type of vacation get away or family get together/reunion. I would like to go back for a quiet weekend for 2 some time. It's one of those places once you get there you never want to leave.

Great vacation getaway!

My friends and I stayed at Shaun's for 5 days and had an absolute blast! The setting and the house were fantastic. If anything, the pictures here don't do it justice.

The place is so great we're planning on making a yearly trip. We mountain biked, played wiffle ball, soaked in the hot tub and just generally relaxed and took in the beautiful surroundings. Thanks again for everything!

Bringing Families Together Getaway

We stayed at the Oregon Cliff House for a three night family getaway. It was a oasis from the hectic chaos of the world and it was more than we expected it to be. The beauty and serenty were soothing to the soul. The decks provided a spectacular view of the river (which you cannot necessary tell from the photos). The grounds were charming and provided an afternoon of whiffle ball fun that my family will not soon forget. The home is well kept and elegant. My husband enjoyed the serenity of early morning trecks to the hot tub overlooking the river. We took a scenic drive to Sister's for lunch one day and enjoyed the shopping and good food of that quaint little town. The owner was more than gracious and a pleasure to deal with. I encourage anyone looking for a romantic get away or a nice get together with friends and family to check this out. Would make a super wedding venue for a small to medium wedding. It's on my list of venues for a future wedding.

A Perfect Birthday Delight!

This is the place to go to relax, and enjoy! The house is so welcoming with its unique touches of coziness. And it holds the class and style one would like while vacationing. I enjoyed walking the grounds and enjoying the activities like horse-shoes and whiffle ball! The intimate river side was well sculpted and easy to maneuver in the day! And topping our relaxation... the hot tub overlooks the river! Peace ran right through us both all weekend!

Heaven on the River

We celebrated the end of summer by staying at this incredible home on Labor Day Weekend. A sweet surprise was awaiting for us on the kitchen counter thanking us for choosing the Oregon Cliff House. I met my sister and her husband there and I had 2 teenagers with me. We all absolutely loved how relaxing and cozy the house was. We enjoyed great BBQ's, the pleasant sound of the river nightly, the amazing wiffle ball field, the beautiful deck to lounge in the summer and the amazing beds. It was a piece of heaven and we enjoyed every moment of it. The home is completely stocked with everything that you would need. And to top it off an amazing music selection, I felt as though I was in my own home. Shaun & his wife take a lot of pride in this house, it has such a warm loving feeling from the moment you open the gates to the driveway. This will hopefully be our Annual Family Retreat. Thank you again so much.

Amazing River Stay

We rented the Cliff House when my husband entered a golf tournament at Tokatee. I invited some friends to BBQ and everyone had an amazing time. Between swimming in the river to running home on the wiffle ball field, it was a vacation we will always remember. The attention-to-detail in the house, awesome granite counters in the kitchen and wonderful master suite (great art and a big stone shower) really bring luxurious touches to the "country" setting. We found 6 four-leaf clovers in the grass and a "secret" garden with a log bench and cool view. It truly is a magical place and we can't wait to stay again. The Cliff House is simply, a great place to be.

staying at the cliff house

WOW! this place is MAGICAL! Every detail was taken into consideration when designing this beautiful home and the property is just gorgeous. Luxury meets Nature. It feels like you escape the world yet you have every amenity you need to relax and enjoy yourself. A great kitchen to cook in and the space is perfect for entertaining. I especially loved being right next to the river, so therapeutic. Highly recommend it. This place is good for the soul.

Heaven with a view

I stayed at the Oregon Cliff House as a gift to myself. I needed some rejuvenation, and this was it! As soon as I stepped into the foyer, I knew there was something magnificent about this place. The attention to detail was perfect. I felt the love given and knew anyone who stayed here would feel it too. Perusing the grounds offered an even bigger impact. The pathway down to the river provided a lovely view, and sitting at river's edge brought the healing I needed. I felt connected to the earth and knew I had missed out by staying inside for so long of my life. I just needed a place like this to draw me out and show me how beautiful nature really is. I felt safely ensconced in the entire area, just the way the owners meant it to be. The house feels luxurious and modern in some ways, and yet rustic in others. Balance is important, and that is achieved here. My favorite part of all is the tree overlooking the kitchen and first bedroom. I called it the Hand-to-God tree because to me it looked like someone raising their hand to God in gratitude. That's how I felt when I was at the Oregon Cliff House. I'm willing to bet you will too.

Sweet Place

What an awesome, relaxing, peaceful place to be! Cozy, natural setting and the views of the river are pretty spectacular. We will definitely come again!

Renting the Good Life -- Riverside

Three components make The Oregon Cliff House a truly luxurious retreat: location, supplies, and final touches.

The location, along the McKenzie River, is simply one that can't be beat. The owner has obviously gone to great lengths to highlight this feature, with a deck overlooking the river and steps leading down to the banks of the river. It is in these shallower waters that my companions and I tied our rafts and enjoyed the sunshine and cool waters. The property also has ample room for outdoor games without feeling cramped (in fact there is a wiffle ball field!).

With this house comes a welcome sense of seclusion from the outside world, which is rarely felt in everyday life; however, conveniences of shopping and dining are actually not far at all -- particularly the Vida Cafe and its Monster Burger.

The house is well stocked with any supply you would need for a great vacation, including games, music, books, basic and special cooking utensils, well-functioning appliances throughout the home, and several grills. We took full advantage of all these features!

But really, what sets this house apart is the final touches. The bathroom has a shower that I didn't want to get out of (I felt like I was in a grotto), a fishing basket for use, beautiful granite throughout the home, interesting books, incredibly comfortable beds, and plenty of space.

These amenities go above and beyond, but the basics of a good vacation home were present as well: the property was clean, safe, updated, and well cared for.

Great Service!

Shaun was extremely helpful in getting our family reunion set up at the house but because of a last-minute change on our part we were unable to hold the event at their beautiful location. Shaun is a great person to work with, whether just renting out the place for a getaway or holding an event as elaborate as a large family reunion!
